PETRA CONTI

The Italian dancer Petra Conti, is an international étoile and Principal Dancer at the Los Angeles Ballet. In her dynamic career, she has danced on international stages with the company of Bayerisches Staatsballett of Munich, as First Dancer of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and as Principal Dancer in the Boston Ballet. Petra Conti was born in Anagni, in the Italian province of Frosinone, in 1988 from an Italian father and a Polish mother. She studied at the National Academy of Dance in Rome, where she graduated with honours in 2006, to then perfect herself at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. During her formative years, she took part in important international dance events in Europe, China and USA, winning prestigious awards. At the young age of 16, she took part in "Sogni", a television programme conducted by Raffaella Carrà on Rai Uno, where she was able to fulfil her dream of dancing for the first time with Roberto Bolle. In 2010, the TV channel SKY Classica dedicated an entire documentary to Petra Conti entitled "Dancers of tomorrow”. She has received numerous awards for her technical and interpretative skills, which have also given her the nickname of "Anna Magnani of ballet". In her career, she has danced alongside Roberto Bolle, Ivan Vasiliev, and Massimo Murru - to name just a few - and Eris Nezha, who will also have become her partner in private life. She has been dancing in the major national and international theatres, and she has been taking part in numerous Galas and special evenings in Italy and abroad. In 2014, Petra Conti was awarded the title of Ambassador of Italian Dance in the World.
