Rosso. Opere Scelte
Curated by Paola Mola
For the first time, a selection of wax, bronze and plaster sculptures are exhibited to the public, which had heretofore been visible only in the Catalogo ragionato, supported by unpublished photographs and drawings by Medardo Rosso.
Medardo Rosso was one of the most meaningful and original personalities on the international sculpture scene during the last century and is the protagonist of the show “Rosso. Selected Works” at the Amedeo Porro Gallery of modern and contemporary art in Milan, which will be on exhibit from the 5th of May to the 29th of July 2001, organised by Paola Mola.
The show is an opportunity to admire a nucleus of extraordinary works by the sculptor: some of which were found only recently, while others come from important private Italian collection , covering a period of time ranging from 1887 to 1927. Additionally, it is Rosso’s first personal show in a private Italian art gallery, after the one organised in 1946 at the Galleria Santo Spirito of Milan.
