Mario Ceroli. The Strength of Dreaming

On 5 June 1997 the Mudima Foundation will launch “La Forza di Sognare/The Strength of dreaming”, an exhibition by the sculptor Mario Ceroli who, after 11 years since his last solo exhibition in Milan, offers the public a collection of never seen before works made in the last few years.
The sculptures on show (dated from 1990 to 1997) are made up of different materials, that is: wood and oxides of various colours (I colori del Sole/The colours of the Sun, 1993, made up of 365 parts of 15x15x6cm), painted wood and copper sulphate (Senza Titolo/Without Title, 1997 of variable size), burned wood (La Forza di Sognare/The Strength of Dreaming, 1996 – 190x180x10cm), wood and glass (Senza Titolo/Without title, 1995-1997 – 200x279x300cm).
The exhibition, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, shows some of Ceroli’s works from his recent past to his last pieces in 1997, so retracing his whole artistic career that has brought him to be a presence in the most important museums of the world.
The exhibition is completed by a catalogue published by Artisti & Artisti and directed by Giampaolo Prearo.
