La voce dell’Adda. Leonardo e la civiltà dell’acqua
Curated by Alberto Martinelli e Fabrizio Trisoglio
With the re-opening to the public of its Historical Archives, Fondazione AEM celebrates the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death with a photographic exhibition dedicated to the river Adda. The exhibition’s itinerary, composed of photographs and videos all coming from the Historical Archives of Fondazione Aem, starts from the Adda sources to then reach the city of Cremona. It presents images of the great Milan’s ex-municipalised hydroelectric works, regarding the territory and the naturalistic, technological and social context crossed by the river. The rich photographic repertoire, which ranges from rare photographs from the latter half of the nineteenth century to the ones from the 1930s and 1950s, up to 1980s Contemporary Collection, and finally from the most recent photographic campaigns commissioned by Fondazione Aem.
The photographic component of the exhibition is enhanced by a special audiovisual installation containing recently restored clips from historical films about the River Adda from the Aem Film Archive. This completes a visual and emotionally immersive story that profoundly spans different eras, places and contexts.
