In occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the Armenian Republic, Yerevan opens its doors to contemporary art with the “International Contemporary Art Exhibition: Armenia 2018 (ICAE2018). Soundlines of Contemporary Art” that will engage the capital city with more than seventy international artists exhibiting in seven different locations.
The exhibition will include all the different aspects of contemporary art – paintings, sculpture, photography, video art, installations and performance – and will create a dialog among a vast number of international artists coming from all over the world, invited to realize their artworks in situ. It focuses on key concepts such as cultural interaction, the circulation of thought, the border as a real and mental threshold that divides and at the same time allows exchange and cultural dialogue.
The event includes the project Open Sounds of Contemporary Art realized through an open call with online application, with a final selection by the curators that will be exhibited in the Artists’ Union of Armenia. Furthermore, an Educational section will include several workshops in some of the leading art institutions and the section Business in Art presents two important conferences on the cultural heritage and the art market.

Curated by Mazdak Faiznia and Marina Hakobyan, “Soundlines of Contemporary Art” is conceived by Fabio Lenzi and Alberto Cagliostro and it is organized by “Shaula International” LLC, and has the patronage of the Canadian Government, the Government of QuÈbec, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in Italy (MiBAC), the cultural promotion project of the Italian Foreign Ministry “Vivere all’Italiana”, the Embassy of Italy in Armenia and it is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Tourism Agency, the EU Delegation in Armenia and by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU).

The exhibition will be accompanied by a two-volume catalog, published by Manfredi Edizioni
