Curated by Serena Redaelli
The Centro Culturale di Milano hosts from 7 November to 5 December 2019 the exhibition “GUY HARLOFF (1933-1991). Alchimie e sinestesie”, curated by Serena Redaelli.
The exhibition, organized by the Guy Harloff Archive – Studio d’arte Nicoletta Colombo in Milan, presents a corpus of about forty works on paper made by the artist from the second half of the fifties to the end of the eighties, which highlight both the evolution of his complex and unmistakable poetics and his important friendships and collaborations in the musical, artistic, cinematographic field at an international level.
The exhibition also features photographs by Roberto Masotti from the Archivio Lelli e Masotti, as well as covers of jazz LPs illustrated by Harloff, documentary photos, rare books and catalogs, a precious example of a Caucasian rug and a series of pictorial works by the young artist Linda Orbac. It also includes the screening of two unreleased short films, conceived by Guy Harloff as an addition to his pictorial production.
The exhibition is under the patronage of the European Commission, the Regione Lombardia and the Municipality of Milan and is part of the events of Bookcity Milano 2019 and JAZZMI 2019.
