Elogio all’ombra. Wilhelm Senoner
Curated by Philippe Daverio, Elena Maria Gregori Daverio
The solo exhibition by the sculptor from Alto Adige Wilhelm Senoner at the Biblioteca del Daverio presents a series of large and small sized scluptures made in lime wood and bronze and painted with acrylic colours and earth pigments. His artistic research is based on man and the human condition; Senoner’s subjects represent infact common men and women portrayed in their daily life. Those figures, suspended in the surrounding environment and sometimes in balance, reveal the need for communication and open-mindedness towards the world. They are symbolic creatures which express an optimistic vision for humankind; the uneven surfaces and the pointy lines are obvious hints at rocks and mountains, symbols of the artist’s birthplace, that influences his art, indissolubly linked with the natural dimension.
