Cinema in bikini. Italiani al mare: manifesti 1949-1999
Curated by Andrea Tomasetig, Enrico Minisini
The town of Lignano Sabbiadoro is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its status as a municipality with an original and entertaining exhibition curated by Andrea Tomasetig and Enrico Minisini and held at the evocative venue Terrazza a Mare from 9 June to 17 July.
About a hundred posters, playbills and photo trailers selected from the extensive and prestigious Minisini Collection offer a glimpse of Italy and the Italians from the mid-twentieth century to the threshold of the new millennium, seen through the lens of the exclusively Italian film genre known as èseaside cinema‘. Among the materials advertising Italian films from 1949 to 1999 are genuine works of art from the èItalian school of the film poster’, one of the most important and internationally recognised, and one that bears the signatures of many great èpainters of cinema’.
The exhibition is accompanied by a rich catalogue with texts by Stefano Salis and curators Andrea Tomasetig and Enrico Minisini, which illustrates the important and significant Minisini Collection in relation to the theme of seaside cinema.
