Alessandra Angelini al Passion for Light – Varenna Fisica Festival

Alessandra Angelini, versatile artist linked to the creative search in the scientific field, takes part in “Passion for Light – Varenna Fisica Festival” that for its first edition deals with the theme of lightin its various aspects.
The exhibit is the only one dedicated to physics at an international level, and from the 16 September to the 1 October provides a series of conferences with world famous academics, (among them several Nobel prize winners), and a series of events aimed at creating a dialogue between the scientists and an audience of any age.
Inside the festival Alessandra Angelini presents two events dedicated to Light and Art: the exhibition “Sinfonia Cosmica. Musica. Spazio. Tempo” / “Cosmic Symphony. Music. Space. Time” , in the conference room of Villa Monastero in Varenna, and the workshop Incidere con la luce / Carve with Light , held at the Council in the Piazza degli Eroi in Merate.
The exhibition Sinfonia Cosmica / Cosmic Symphony is made up of a core of 5 luminograms originated from photographic shots, and replicated through digital printing.
On Sunday 18 September, both inside the Council building and on the square facing it, Alessandra Angelini also holds the workshop Incidere con la luce / Carve with Light where it is possible to witness the creation of some works, using sunlight, through the fascinating technique of the Solarplate.
What unites the works for Sinfonia Cosmica / Cosmic Symphony and Incidere con la luce / Carve with Light is the speed of implementation: both techniques employ short periods of time that create experimental, visionary and extremely innovative works.
